The Hell City Tattoo Festival is a celebration of body art and the
education of tattooing and other forms of body modification for all.
Nowhere else can you find such a collection of skilled tattoo artists
in one area. Every year thousands of people come for the weekend to be
tattooed by the worlds best artists and hang out with others in the
tattoo community. If you see any of the attending artists you would
like to get tattooed by on the HC website, it is a good idea to book
your artist early, you can do that by clicking the attending artists
studio link. But Hell City does not just have tattooing as
entertainment. All weekend long various acts, contests, art fusion, and
other entertainment happen in the festival. This is a world class
convention, smooth running, and packed with hundreds of brilliant
artists from the world over. Hell City has come to be one of the
industries favorite events. Everyone appreciates the festival because
the atmosphere is warm, jovial and welcoming to the guests who come for
a peek into another world. We encourage you to explore the Hell City
website, poke around, browse the photo galleries of the past HC’s, and
share them with your mates and loved ones. Aside from TV specials and
any vibe you think you get when you drive by your local tattoo studio,
where else will you learn the truth of tattooing and other art forms?
This is an industry tradeshow, one that covers body modification in all
forms, historical to futuristic, education to exhilaration. Hell City
is an exhibition of all styles, be they painterly or bold, thematically

is an entertainment super-hero and has conquered more achievements and

Hell City!! Rubberboy began training at the age of 4 years old using whatever he

Various times all weekend Tattoo Competitions
will be held. Registration fee for each category is $10 (Tattoo of the
Day is free). A panel of carefully selected tattoo artists will judge
the tattoo competition using Hell City special electronic rating methods. The
competing tattoos will be displayed to the attendees on a large screen
and will be announced over a P.A. system to keep attendees informed on
details of the competing piece. All competitions are as impartial as
possible. No Sore Losers!!

The Hell City Sinema
is one of the many additions to Hell City where you can rest your feet,
eat some pop corn, and watch one of the many tattoo inspired modern and
historical tattoo flicks that will be played continuously over the
weekend. Tattoo Wars will be showing daily in the HC Sinema! Tattoo Wars pits the best tattoo artists of our time against each other
in a head to head creation competition. The worlds best tattoo artists go head to head at Hell City! In these episodes you will
explore the
world, legend and work of two internationally acclaimed tattooists, Guy
Aitchison and Aaron Cain.
Then travel to a the Hell City Tattoo Fest in Phoenix, Arizona where
our stars ink a tattoo on the skin of one willing client in 3 hours.
These creations
have a common theme, a human heart, but are rendered in the
unique style of each artist. As the show closes, thousands of show
attendees vote for the creation they like the best and the winning

The 2009 Phoenix Hell City Sinema is presented by the International
Horror & Sci Fi Film Festival. It is Arizona’s largest genre film
festival and its coming to you October 15 –18, 2009. The Film
Festivals Director, the Midnite Movie Mamacita and Horror Directors
(the boys from) iCanSmellYourBrains.com have handpicked these devilish
cinematic delights. Classic Horror is this year’s theme as they run
the gambit of horror from yester year with films by George Romero
(Night of the Living Dead) and Roger Corman (Little Shop of Horrors).
With such familiar faces as Jack Nicholson (The Terror), Boris Karloff
(The Terror) and Barbara Steele (Nightmare Castle). Can't catch a
whole flick? Never fear we will be showcasing the best (and worst) of
Horror and Exploitation trailers for your viewing pleasure! So rest
your weary souls in our Sinema and to avoid fainting, keep repeating
"It's only a movie...It's only a movie”.

You can get info and sign up for the seminars
at the convention before the seminar starts. See the Admissions Counter
upon arrival at Hell City for information, or show up at Hell City
seminar room prior to seminar. Attendees will be checked for HC wrist
bands prior to taking seminars, you must pay HC admission in addition
to the seminar to be able to take any seminar.
HC Fine Art Gallery
All weekend we are asking all attending tattoo artists to bring at
least one piece of fine art with them to display at the convention. The
fine art will be displayed in a gallery area dedicated to displaying
other works of art from attending artists. Artists may sell their
artwork or just present
it for everyone to see. Artists must provide name tags for each piece
of art stating the name of the artist and the studio they are with.
Artists that wish to sell their fine art must provide pricing for each
piece. The Fine Art Gallery is next to the seminar room, special events room and sinema room.
An exciting performance to this year's Hell City Tattoo Festival: The Art Fusion Experiment brought to you by Paul Booth, Filip Leu, and Guy Aitchison.
This performance art involves between 3 to 5 artists collaborating,
changing canvases every 3 to 5 minutes, and completing pieces of art
done in charcoal, color pastels, or other mediums. The Art Fusion
Experiment will be held every day of the Hell City Tattoo Festival on
the HC Second Stage periodically throughout the entire weekend. This event is a definite crowd pleaser and shouldn't be missed!
For the lil devil in 'em!
Heck City is a small area at Hell City devoted to the lil’ devils that come with their parents. The Heck City Kids Booth will
have a coloring contest,face painting, balloons, candy, pictures with
the Hell City mascot, and a wide variety of temporary tattoos for boys
and girls to show off on the convention floor. All temporary tattoos
will be applied by professional, sterile and clean Heck City Temporary
Tattoo Artists. New bucket and sponge each lil’ devil (wink). You can even print out
the Heck City Devil page on the kids’ section and go crazy with your
crayons, markers, or colored pencils and show up with it. Each winner will also be brought on
stage to present his or her award of a free temporary tattoo of their
choice and a Heck City t-shirt. Coloring pictures will be available at the
Kid’s Booth! There will be a contest every day
at 10PM to randomly select a winner.

TATTOO HISTORY MUSEUM EXHIBIT
Inside the Fine Art Gallery
Temple Tattoo History Museum presents the Tattoo History Museum Exhibit dedicated to Ohio
Tattoo History. Al & Dale Schiefley, the Sandusky Tattoo Club,
Stoney St. Clair, Carl Bumpus and many more. The exhibit to
include original vintage flash, antique tattoo machines, power
supplies, tubes, stencils, etc and loads of vintage photos. The tattoo
museum will also be featuring a slide show presentation of historical
tattoo photos. Be sure to check out this vintage moment in the history
of tattooing in Ohio.
